Name: Ashley Ebert
Where are you from: I grew up in the wonderful rural town of Sublette, IL and recently moved to Geneseo, IL last spring!
Tell us a little about yourself: I grew up on a farm in Sublette, IL with my parents and three older brothers. Our family farms red but I managed to marry a Deere guy! His career with Deere has allowed us to move and travel all over the Midwest. We have two little girls, Camryn (6) and Eden (2), who we absolutely adore. When I'm not at home with the littlest I am a Family Nurse Practitioner at a local Urgent Care Clinic. When I'm not working the clinic, I am out hunting for treasures for my occasional shop 'mabel." downtown Geneseo. My shop features vintage finds from all over the Midwest, handmade items from makers I've met along my travels, apparel and jewelry.
You can find more about my shop on Instagram: @mabel.inspired or on Facebook: Facebook.com/mabel.inspired
Describe your style: Very relaxed. Wearing scrubs at my day job and yoga pants most days at home, when I go out being comfortable is a must. I think that comfort 100% does not need to be sacrificed to look good. I love clothing that is easy to layer in transitioning from morning to night. I love clothing that can be spruced up with a simple statement necklace or bracelet. I am all about neutrals- creams, mustards, black/grey, faded blues, etc because I find it makes it easier to add a pops of flare without looking too busy.
Favorite Place to Shop: Besides Katsch, which is a given ;) I would have to say Old Navy. As a working mom, knowing that no "nice" clothing will stay nice for long I love that Old Navy is up on the trends, carry my neutrals and is totally cost effective. Their current vintage collection is to die for. #mustardlove
Favorite source of Inspiration: Definitely Instagram. It is such an inspiring community of fellow makers and small business owners. As a person who works with vintage I love to follow those bloggers and shops that are really able to show, through staging and vignettes, how these lovely pieces from our past can be reused and re-loved.
