Name: Carly Ritt
Where are you from: Mequon, WI
Tell us a little about yourself: I’m a Wisconsin girl through and through. I grew up outside of Milwaukee, attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison (#OnWisconsin) and found my way back to the Milwaukee-area after graduation. I Irish danced for about 20 years and was fortunate to begin traveling the world at a young age for competitions and performances. Ireland and Japan will always hold a special place in my heart.
I majored in Elementary Education but along the way became increasingly interested in public relations and social media. To keep my career journey short and sweet, I’ve taught, I’ve Irish danced, I’ve taught Irish dance and now work in public relations at an agency in the Third Ward (my favorite part of Milwaukee).
Just over a year ago, I married my best friend after dating for about seven years. Bill and I met while attending school in Madison and realized that our parents lived less than five minutes away from each other. One of my favorite lines from my dad’s speech at our wedding was, “You’ve traveled around the world, but you found your love two miles from home.”

Describe your style: I would describe my style as feminine and classic. I try to mix and match more timeless pieces with fun accessories. While I am most comfortable in skinny jeans and ballet flats, I love a good fit-and-flare dress and heels. I’m 5’2” so I tend to try and give myself a little extra height.
Favorite Place to Shop: Nordstrom is one of my go-to stores. It carries my favorite clothing brands (even J.Crew now!), makeup and home décor items. I also love visiting local shops in the Third Ward to find unique and personalized gifts for friends and family.
Favorite sources of Inspiration: While I still love to browse magazines, I check Instagram and Pinterest for daily inspiration. I love seeing how other people style similar pieces to ones I have in my closet. It helps me think of new ways to wear old favorites.
Go to pieces in your closet: Striped tees (really anything striped), oversized sweaters and a great pair of denim.
What are some of your favorite current trends? I’m currently loving bell sleeves, ruffle tops, dark florals and suede mules.
Fashion Icon: Olivia Palermo always looks effortlessly chic, and Kate Middleton can do no wrong.
Preferred method of social media: Instagram and Snapchat (the deer filter is my absolute favorite)
You just won an all expense paid trip to anywhere in the world! Where are you going? Bora Bora for a relaxing trip with my husband.
Favorite Book: I’m a sucker for a good rom-com (does that still count for books?). I loved I’ve Got Your Number and Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella.
Favorite Type of Food: I love Mexican food as long as it’s not too spicy (#givemeallthequeso), and I’ll never turn down a pizza. My other guilty pleasure is going to a restaurant just for french fries and aioli.
Favorite City: Charleston, SC or Nashville, TN
Favorite Era: 1960s
